  • Department of Commerce:
Department of Commerce was established in CSM’s Arts and Commerce College, Chakan in the year 1987. College has also started BBA (Computer Application) under faculty of commerce from June 2010. Department has Costing & Banking subjects at specialization level. Department organizes various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities to enhance teaching-learning process. Majority students of the college are first generation learners. Apart from regular classroom teaching, department organize activities like Lectures of Eminent Persons, Study Visits to banks & industries, Short Term Certificate Courses, Remedial Teaching Programme for educationally weak students, In Class Seminars, Group discussion, power point presentations, Project Work, Career Counselling, social activities, etc.
These activities help in developing confidence, leadership, stage daring, creativity, entrepreneurship skills and personality development amongst students. It motivates and energized students to face highly competitive and challenging career in field of Commerce and capture the employment opportunities.

Prof. Dr. Dattatraya Sakharam Tambe

M.Com., B.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D.

Associate Professor & Head Dept. of Commerce

Prof. Dr. Dattatraya Tambe is having first class throughout his academic career. He is M. Com., M.Phil., Ph.D. in Commerce. He has completed his UG, PG, M. Phil & Ph.D. from Pune University. He is a Head Department of Business Law Taxation & Auditing of the College. He has vast 32 years of teaching experience in the subjects Accounting, Law, Taxation, Management, Banking etc.
He has attended number of state, national & international conferences & presented research papers. He has completed minor research project funded by BCUD, S.P. Pune University. He has represented University as member of LIC committee and subject expert at various colleges. He was awarded as a best teacher by retired teachers association Khed Taluka. He was awarded with ‘Shaikshanik Karyagaurav State level Award’ for conspicuous contribution to social & educational field by Dnyanoday Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha, Takli bhan, Srirampur, Maharashtra. He has also actively participated in various academic activities & committees. He is very popular teacher amongst the students & staff.

Prof. Dr. Hemkant Nivrutti Gawade

M.Com., Ph.D., NET, GDC&A, ABL&C

Assistant Professor

Prof. Dr. Hemkant Nivrutti Gawade has completed M.Com., in first class from S.P. Pune University. He did his Ph.D. from S.P. Pune University. He had also completed NET in first attempt in June 2006. He passed GDC&A and American Business Laws & Communication Course in First class. He has excellent academic track record. He has overall 18 years of teaching experience at B.Com., M.com., BCA, BBA BFT, BHMTT, B.Sc. (HS) courses of S.P. Pune University at various colleges. He has previously served to VETE Board, Pune, S.P. College Alandi, ASM’s CSIT-IBMR College, Chinchwad & Sinhgad Institute – NBN College, Lonavla. Presently he is associated with CSM’s Arts & Commerce College, Chakan since July-2010.
He received ‘Best Teacher Award’ on 4th Jan 2019 on the occasion of 20th Rashtriya Bandhuta Sahitya Sammelan at the hands of Dr. Shripal Sabnis. He is Panel member of Board of Studies (BOS) in Business Administration of St. Mira’s Girls College, Pune (Autonomous) for 2017 to 2022. He has worked as a resource person for NET / SET workshops for teachers / student’s training at Ness Wadia College Pune, Shahu College, Pune & Annasaheb Magar College, Hadapsar, Pune, GVM’s GGPR College, Ponda Goa. (06 workshops until now at various colleges). He is Co-author for the reference book ‘Business Entrepreneurship and Environment (Vol – I)’ ISBN -978-93-91695-71-2
He also has delivered expert sessions at UGC HRDC – refresher courses for teachers, he has delivered sessions as Chair Person for 2 National Level Seminars & as a Resource Person for 6 State Level Seminars & webinars. He has delivered expert sessions at Parul University, Gujrat, Balwant College, Satara, KTHM College, Nashik, MVP’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, Makhmalabad, Nashik, Chhatrapati Shahu College of Engineering, Aurangabad, Devgiri Institute of Engineering & Management studies, Aurangabad, Arts & Commerce College, Dehane, Pitam Prakash College, Bhosari, Sinhgad College of Arts & Commerce Narhe, Ratnai College, Rajgurunagar and many colleges.
He has successfully shouldered the responsibility & assisted in organization of 1 National & 2 state level seminars. He has actively participated in 50+ seminars & presented 9 research papers at International, National & State, Level Seminars / Conferences.
He has also delivered 30+ expert lectures on various subjects in many colleges & NSS camps. He has command on subjects like Accounting, Law, Communication, Costing, Management, etc. He has undergone many training programmes & courses for continuous knowledge updation. He has contributed to the corporate life and management of the institution through participation in academic and administrative committees.
He has successfully undertaken activities of NSS & Student’s welfare as a Programme Coordinator at college level. He is involved in various co-circular & extracurricular activities for students. He is always ready to help students in academic activities like career guidance & career planning. He also likes to assist needy & poor students having spark but financially weak. He encourages students to participate in various seminars, cultural, co-curricular activities & competitions. He is very popular teacher amongst the students & staff.

Prof. Afroz Firoz Inamdar

M.Com, Set Qualified, MBA, DTL, GDC&A, Pursuing Ph.D

Prof. Afroz Firoz Inamdar has completed M.Com., in first class from S.P. Pune University. She has qualified Set. Exam and pursing her Ph.D. in Accounting. She also completed DTL & MBA from S.P. Pune University. She has passed GDC&A course. She has excellent academic track record. She has 13 years of teaching experience at B.Com. M.Com. BCA, courses of Pune University.
She has also delivered expert lectures on various subjects in many colleges. She has command on subjects like Accounting, Costing, Management, Taxation & Mathematics etc. She is very popular teacher amongst the students & staff.

Prof. Ranjeet Chandrakant Kalan
