- Gymkhana Department :
Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in CSMs Arts and Commerce College, Chakan in the year of 1987. Department conducts regular practices for various games like a Handball, Netball, Korfball, Basketball, Archery, Athletics, Chess etc.
Gymkhana Department organises various sports activities. College also organises various, Savitribai Phule Pune University inter zonal level, Pune District Zonal Inter Collegiate level various games and tournaments in Basketball, Netball every year.
Many students of Gymkhana department were selected as a member & captain for Savitribai Phule Pune University team in various games for inter University and All India level, West zone inter University level tournaments. Many students of Gymkhana department had participated in National and state level tournaments.
These activities help in developing self Confidence, Leadership, Physical and Mental development, social development, Personality development. It motivates to face highly competitive and challenging career in field of sports and, capture the employment opportunities.

Prof. Kamble Shailendra Laxman
Prof. Kamble Shailendra Laxman is working as a Director of Physical Education and Sports at CSM’s Arts and Commerce College, Chakan since June 1991. He played in various Sports and Games at Inter College, Inter Zonal, District and National level. He participated in many Basketballs, Handball, Netball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Athletics, korfball tournaments. He represented the team as a Captain and Player in National level tournament. He won gold medal in Khelo Master Games tournament (1500 Meters running) & Bronze medal in Long Jump, held in December 2022.
He has worked as a selection committee member for Savitribai Phule Pune University Inter Zonal Various Games and tournaments. He has participated at All India inter University and West Zonal Inter University tournaments as a Team manager and Coach for Savitribai Phule Pune University teams. He was a Selection Committee member for inter college level various games and tournaments. He participated in Inter Zonal Savitribai Phule Pune University tournaments as a Team Manager and Coach for Pune District teams. He worked as a subject expert (VC Nominee) for interview of the post of Director of Physical Education and Sports. He worked as a CAS committee member (VC Nominee,) Observer for Savitribai Phule Pune University Inter Zonal tournaments.
He has participated in many Seminars and Workshops in Physical Education and Sports organised by Department of Physical Education and Sports Savitribai Phule Pune University Pune. He is working as a Joint Secretary for Pune District Inter College tournaments.
